Instructions
Prep the cabbage:
Remove any damaged outer leaves and slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick steaks or wedges, depending on your preference for Baked Cabbage Steaks or Baked Cabbage Wedges.
Season generously
In a bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with the seasoning mixture.
Roasting method
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Arrange cabbage steaks on a lined baking sheet. Roast for 20 minutes, then brush BBQ sauce and honey (or maple syrup) over each steak. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes until caramelized.
Grilling method
For Cabbage Steaks Grilled, preheat a grill to medium heat. Grill each side for about 5 minutes, brushing with BBQ sauce in the final minutes.
Cheesy variation
For Cheesy Cabbage Steaks, sprinkle Parmesan and cheddar cheese over the cabbage steaks before the final 5 minutes of cooking.
Serve and garnish
Remove from the oven or grill, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot!
