Instructions
Toast the Buns
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on the inside of each bun half. Place them butter-side down on the skillet and toast until golden and crisp. Set aside.
Warm the Ham
In the same skillet, add the slices of ham and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned and heated through.
Add the BBQ Sauce
Drizzle barbecue sauce over the ham in the skillet and let it sizzle for a few seconds. Flip the ham to coat both sides.
Melt the Cheese
Layer the slices of cheese over the ham in the skillet. Cover with a lid for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
Assemble the Sandwich
Place the BBQ ham and cheese onto the bottom half of the toasted bun. Add optional toppings like pickles or fried onions for extra crunch and flavor. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve
Serve immediately with chips, coleslaw, or a side salad for a complete meal.
