For the Cookie Cake

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed

  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pan

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5: Fold in the Chocolate Chips

  1. Gently fold in both types of chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 6: Bake

  1. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared cake pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until the edges are set and the center looks slightly underbaked (it will firm up as it cools).
