Equipment

  • Baking dish or oven-safe skillet
  • Tongs
  • Basting brush
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops about 1 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional, for extra caramelization
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Season the Pork Chops

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Rub both sides with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drizzle with olive oil and rub the seasoning in evenly.

Sear for Extra Flavor (Optional)

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. This adds an extra depth of flavor before baking.

Coat with BBQ Sauce

  1. Place the pork chops in the prepared baking dish. In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush half of the sauce mixture over the pork chops.

Bake to Perfection

  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil, brush with more BBQ sauce, and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Rest & Serve

  1. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. This helps keep them juicy. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side!
