Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Aluminum foil
  • Small Mixing Bowl
  • Basting brush
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 pork tenderloin about 1.5 lbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce use your favorite brand or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon honey for a touch of sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar to balance the flavors
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Preheat and Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Season the Tenderloin

  1. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the pork.

Sear for Extra Flavor (Optional but Recommended)

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sear the pork tenderloin for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. This locks in juices and adds a beautiful crust.

Coat with BBQ Sauce

  1. In another small bowl, mix BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush half of this mixture over the pork.

Bake

  1. Place the tenderloin in the baking dish and bake for 15 minutes. Then, brush with more BBQ sauce and bake for another 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Rest and Serve

  1. Remove the pork from the oven, tent it with foil, and let it rest for 5 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute. Slice and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side!
