The Hungry Goddess Loves Naked Brussels Sprouts

I love Brussels Sprouts … seek them … crave them … want to eat them again and again.  Yes.  I am a Brussels Sprout Stalker.

I like Brussels in dishes ( like Cauliflower and Brussels Sprout Gratin or Roasted Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts Salad in Honey Wine Vinegar) … but mostly, I adore naked Brussels Sprouts. No adornment needed except for a casual sprinkle of sea salt once I pop them out of the oven.  Slow roasting brussels is okay but once I trim those little babies, I cannot wait even 30 or 40 minutes.  I turn on the broiler, anoint them with a bit of Olive Oil, and stick them under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes.  And then they come out slightly charred, definitely brown, and I get to eat them like popcorn.

If you cannot wait (read impatient), like me, then I highly recommend my Brussels Sprouts salad with Sour Cherries and Pine Nuts. Heaven in a bowl.  And my secret weapon for a quick dinner that has everyone begging for more?  Gnocchi with Brussels Sprouts and Bacon – soooo easy!

  3. Like popcorn! You really love your brussels sprouts! I’m going to have to try broiling them and then just sprinkling with sea salt – you make it sound like the next best thing to cupcakes. I just don’t even know where to start (other than the grocery store to get some brussels sprouts!)
