Asian Inspired Recipes Roundup on Hungry Goddess

Warning – there are over 40 links to AMAZING Asian and Asian-Inspired Recipes in this post.  Get ready to click and drool.

My parents had a long-running monthly gourmet group as I was growing up.  They were foodies and all of their friends were foodies and weekends were filled with wild cooking, laughter and tables full of guests. Chinese and Thai cooking was happening in my house while the other kids were eating meatloaf and tv dinners.  Did I regret it?  Not one steamed pork bite!

If I was forced to pick a favorite country for Asian cooking – I would be hard-pressed.  I really love aspects from all of them.  Thai cuisine is probably the one most frequently prepared in the Hungry Goddess kitchen.  I love making my own Thai Green Curry Paste and when I am not feeling well, Tom Kha Gai is ALL I WANT.  When my client, Pollen Ranch, began carrying Kaffir Lime Leaf Powder – I SWOONED.  Curry is a weekly dish here and sometimes it has an Indian flair and sometimes an Asian and sometimes even an African.  The spices from Asia evoke creativity in the kitchen … the flavors, smells, and of course, the delicious bites make up what I consider a strong part of my essential pantry.  Kimchi is on my radar as an accomplishment in the next month or two.  Stay tuned.

Tom Kha Gai Soup from The Hungry GoddessFor authentic Wok cooking, there is only ONE PLACE to go – Eleanor Hoh Wok Star – so make sure you cruise her offerings that will make YOU a Wok Star!

Further Asian inspiration can be found at White on Rice Couple’s site – seriously, the Thai Iced Tea is happening in my kitchen today.  and tomorrow.  Then I might try the Vietnamese Iced Coffee.
