The Real Emil’s Sausage Kitchen in Deerfield Beach {Review}

There is a true treasure in our midst here in South Florida that could only be experienced (possibly) if you got on a plane to Germany.  Please meet Walter & Jutta Voos and The Real Emil’s Sausage Kitchen in Deerfield Beach, Florida who made our Mother’s Day celebration (and other gatherings) simply stupendous!

Mother’s day was celebrated on Saturday for The Hungry Goddess family at my parent’s home with grandchildren running amok, at least three times in the pool and treats galore from Emil’s – it was a perfect day!  We had plans for a different dinner but as we were on the way to the market, we passed Emil’s and my Mom exclaimed, my sister-in-law and I exclaimed and we ended up with a FEAST!

Let me share what was included on our Mother’s Day celebration menu from Emil’s:

Rabbit Pate – the pate never even made it to a plate and was a hit from the youngest (10 years old) to the oldest!  The blend of flavors and the richness had a party in my mouth!  The Country Pate is as amazing as the Rabbit Pate.

Fresh Liverwurst – creamy, melt in your mouth and the best liverwurst I have ever had – just that simple.  I think all other liverwurst is ruined for me, but since Emil’s is close, I can manage!

Chicken Bologna with Pistachios and Mustard Seeds – the standard chicken bologna has always been a hit (my son ears it in one day) AND it is 99% fat free but the pistachios and mustard seed make it a delicacy!

Head Cheese with Vinegar – this is not my cup of tea but my Mother loves it and since it was all about Mom – She reveled in it!

Octoberfest  & Smoked Bratwurst Sausages – we asked what sausages were best for the grill and these were the recommendations.  They grilled beautifully – a delicious crunch, juicy and leaves you ready for more!  Add mustard and sauerkraut for a heavenly mouthful.

German Potato Salad – The German Potato Salad at Emil’s is my second favorite – my Grandmother’s is still my absolute favorite – but this was the perfect complement to the entire meal!  Served warm, of course.

There was also a pretzel roll which never even made it out of the car.  Yes, it was that GOOD!  And a loaf of fresh baked rye bread that handled the sausages beautifully!

Emil’s has an incredible range of so many Sausages and Wursts and and most of it is made in house, right in the back.  You can see the full menu here.  When I lived in the UK, I fell in love with Bloodwurst and Emil’s has it – I fry it up with eggs over easy – heaven!

The cases are filled with interesting and tasty offerings and there is always a steady flow of traffic.  Emil’s provides the highest quality products as well as customer service – friendly, fun and samples are available.  If you are in South Florida, The Real Emil’s European Sausage Kitchen MUST BE on your TO DO LIST.  There is not another market that can even compare.
